Morse de Vlaminck (Vlaminck Maurice de)

Born April 4, 1876 in Paris, in a family of Flemish emigrants. Special education is not received, started painting in 1893, apparently in part that contributed to his rejection of the conventions of everyday life, which is reflected in the title of his book, written much later: Do not obey. In addition to painting classes at different periods of his life Vlaminck fond of cycling, performed with the gypsy orchestra, wrote the book - he owns two of the novel and autobiography Dangerous curves.
Dynamic composition and brightness of the color of his early works was impressed by another representative of the post-Impressionist painting, Andre Derain, and since 1899 they have for some time worked together, forming a so-called. 'School of Chatou'. In the early scenes Vlaminck felt interest in the various styles of painting, some of them noticeably influence of Impressionism, neo-impressionism and Fauvism. In 1907 Vlaminck became acquainted with the works of Cezanne, and in 1907-1909 worked out works her own style. He is a simplified geometrized treatment of subjects that the artist borrowed from Cц?zanne, subtle gradations of light transmission and the use of bright contrasting colors. A number of studies Vlaminck manifested his interest in cubism. In the works 1920-1930-ies he is less stressed volumetric forms, emphasized the contrast between light and shadow, creating a dynamic, emotional paintings. Vlaminck died at his country house near Paris October 11, 1958.
