Biography Samuel Daniel (Daniel Samuel)
(1562-1619) Born in 1562 in Taunton. He studied at Oxford University (1579-1582), in 1592 published a series of sonnets Delia (Delia) and a novel Complaint Rosamond (The Complaint of Rosamond). His historical poem of the Civil War (The Civil Wars, 1595, 1609) is a lengthy narrative of the Wars of the Roses (1455-1485). In 1599 Daniel published an essay Muzofil (Musophilus) - a moving apology for creative writing and English, in 1602 published the work in the defense of rhyme (A Defence of Rhyme). In 1607 the poet joined the numerous earlier publications in the collection Some small works of those, . that were published before this day by Samuel Daniel (Certain Small Works Heretofore Divulged by Samuel Daniel); in 1612 published a prose essay History of England (History of England), . Daniel died in Bekingtone October 14, 1619.
