KAZAN Elia (Kazan Elia)

Stimulating and directing the creative search for such actors as M. Brando, L.Dzh.Kobb, K. Stanley, K. Melden and Geraldine Page, seemed to introduce the commercial theater style 'explosive', a natural game for the system of Stanislavsky. In 1947, Kazan was one of the founders of the famous 'Actors Studio'. The name seemed related such classic dramas like Death of a Salesman (Death of a Salesman), Tram 'Desire' (A Streetcar Named Desire) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof). In the early 1950's Cauldron successfully applied his directorial talent in the film - set of films Viva Zapata! (Viva Zapata!, 1952) and the port (On the Waterfront, 1954) were awarded the 'Oscar'.
Kazan (Kazanzhoglu his real name) was born on September 7, 1909 in a Greek family in Kadikoy (Turkey) and a child came to the U.S.. Educated at Williams College (pc. Mass.) and Yale University, he entered as an actor in a theatrical group 'Group-tietr'. His second, directorial career includes 1940's - early 1950. In 1960 Kazan began his third career - writer and screenwriter, becoming the author of the script the movie America, America (America, America, 1962) and the novel Agreement (The Arrangement, 1967).
