Biography Richard von Krafft-Ebing (Krafft-Ebing Richard von)
(1840-1902) Born August 14, 1840 in Mannheim. He studied in Heidelberg, Zurich, Vienna and Prague. In 1864 he became an assistant in a shelter for mentally ill in Illenau. In 1868 he moved to Baden-Baden, where he focused on research and treatment of Nervous and Mental Disease, in 1872 became a professor of psychiatry, University of Strasbourg. A year later was appointed director of the National Hospital for the mentally ill in Graz. Since 1880 - Professor of Psychiatry and Nervous Diseases, University of Graz, and from 1889 - Professor, University of Vienna. In 1902, Krafft-Ebing returned to Graz, where he worked in a nursing home. Krafft-Ebing - Founder of the clinical analysis of paranoia, the author of numerous works on psychiatry and neurology.
