Biography LOTTE Lorenzo (Lotto Lorenzo)
(1480-1556) Born in 1480 in Venice and probably was a pupil Aleviz Vivarini, from which he took the traditional scheme of the figures separately from the environment (the method of overcoming Titian unity of composition). Lotto largely developed the desire to transfer Aleviz Vivarini subtle shades of mental states and feelings. It is for this purpose Lotto disturbed the balance in the composition of figures, he did not consider it necessary to follow the modern style and overcome the alienation of the characters from the world around them. In 1526-1529 and 1540-1549 Lotto lived in Venice, but mostly he worked in the provincial towns of Northern Italy. Personal letters and documents of the wizard shows that he was a misanthrope and suffered from a lack of recognition. In old age he found shelter in the Santa Casa at Loretto, where he died in 1556. Among his works - the more traditional altarpiece, sketches and sketches of individual figures of saints and portraits. Several major works - a cycle of frescoes in the Oratorio Suardi Villa in Trescore and cardboard for wooden decorations in the technique of marquetry in the church of Santa Maria Maggiore (Bergamo) - reveal frank, . lively realism, . not marked by any of the other artists of that time, . From his early style, . bright and somewhat heavy (Portrait Rossi; altarpiece The Annunciation, . 1528, . Church of Santa Maria Sopra Mercanti in Recanati), . Lotto went to compositions, . complete and rapid vibrating movement (the altar of the church of San Bernardino in Bergamo), . Obviously, Venetian tradition has led to the emergence of a more soft and broad interpretations of nature (of that are numerous portraits). Later works by the master darker in color, with a more expressive and multi-valued environment (altars in the church of Santa Maria in Teluziano in Iezi, Monte San Giusto and the church of San Nicolo in Chinoli).
