Sebastiano del Piombo

Born in Venice. He has held the post of Keeper of the Seals (piombo) in the Office of the Papal.
Sebastiano studied first by Giovanni Bellini, Giorgione, and then at. In 1511 he came to Rome where, together with Raphael and his students participated in the decoration of Villa Farnesina frescoes commissioned by the banker Agostino Chigi of Siena. In 1515 Sebastiano acquainted with Michelangelo and became his disciple and assistant.
