Jerry Falwell (Falwell Jerry)

Born in Lynchburg (pc. Virginia), August 11, 1933. Go to college in Lynchburg, intended to become a mechanical engineer, but after treatment was transferred to Baptist Bible College in Springfield (pc. Missouri). After finishing last in 1956 founded the brotherhood of the Church, Thomas Road in Lynchburg and played with daily sermons on local radio. Soon Falwell organized the broadcast television program Gospel hour, and ten years later began to direct his own TV Sunday sermon. Donations from listeners and viewers were significant amounts, and in 1971 started broadcasting conducted at the national level. In the same year, Falwell founded the Liberty Baptist College in Lynchburg.
At the end of 1979 Falwell went beyond the purely religious sermons, affecting their programming topics such as school prayer, a ban on abortion, homosexuality and the amendments concerning equal rights for all citizens.
