Biography Mischa Elman (Elman Mischa)
(1891-1967) January 20, 1891 in the village Talnoe in Ukraine. At the age of six entered the Odessa Conservatory in five years - in St. Petersburg, in the class L. Auer. Successfully playing a diploma exam, Elman October 14, 1904 debut in Berlin and was recognized as the local public as a brilliant prodigy. After a series of concerts on the continent Elman in 1905 made his first appearance in London, thereby laying the foundation for their future fame. In America, he played for the first time in 1908 with the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra and had a phenomenal success and soon he gave recitals in New York 'Carnegie Hall'. In subsequent years, Elman made several tours of the Old and New World, speaking with the major orchestras of the world. He became perhaps the first artist of world renown, which gave concerts in the Far East during the Second World War, he often spoke in military units. Game Elman differed deep, rich tone - many have tried to imitate it, but never reached the heights of the original. In 1923, violinist moved to the U.S.. The last concert he gave on Jan. 17, 1967 in the 'Carnegie Hall'. Elman died in New York on April 5, 1967.
