. Born April 21, 1913 in the village Nagornoe now Sayan region of Krasnoyarsk Territory in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1931. After his father's death in 1920, became a farm laborer. He graduated from the 7 classes in the village of Fish Rybinsk district of Krasnoyarsk. He worked in agriculture. In 1928 he joined the Young Communist League. In the Red Army from 1930. In 1932 he graduated with honors Volskaya joint military school for pilots and aviation technicians. He served in technical positions in the Air Force.

Wounded in the legs, Kuzmin crawled through the snow until he was picked up by local residents and hid in a house. After some time he attempted to reach her, but was captured by the Germans. He managed to escape from a POW camp. Month fought as a partisan. It was then shipped across the front line. The hospital had to amputate his left foot and a third right foot (frostbitten while crawling). 3 months spent in hospitals. After amplification, the training learned to walk on prosthetic limbs. Obtained permission to return to the ranks. He mastered the La-5. Later fought at Stalingrad and in the southern front.

All made 280 sorties. In air battles personally shot down 22 enemy planes, and 7 - in the group.
B YUST Hero is set in the village of Fish, a school named after him. On the street its name in the city of Krasnoyarsk Territory Zaozerny a memorial plaque.
