. Born June 23, 1923 in the village Grigorovo now Suzdal district, Vladimir region into a peasant family. Russian. Soon his family moved to the city of Ivanovo. He graduated from the school Б•ї 56 and Ivanovo Aeroclub. In the Red Army from 1941. In the autumn of the same year he graduated from the Krasnodar military aviation school pilots and the rank of "sergeant" is intended to spare Aviation Regiment.
Member of the Great Patriotic War, July 1942. As part of 728 th Fighter Regiment fought at the Kalinin Front. Participated in Rzhev, then in the battles for the city of Great Luke. Experience and flying skills were acquired in air battles of Kursk and Belgorod, Kharkov and Poltava.

. In the area covering our pilots have found 20 bomber Ju-87 escorted by 12 fighters Me-109. In the ensuing unequal battle our pilots shot down 8 bombers and 3 fighters, two of which account Lazarev. In battle he was wounded in the leg, and his aircraft set on fire, but continued to fight for as long as no clothes on fire. With great difficulty he managed to fall out of the cab, after which the plane almost immediately exploded. He landed on the front line and was picked up by tank crews. After treatment in hospital he returned to his regiment. Participated in the liberation of Kiev, fought near Krakow and Rzeszow, in the foothills of the Carpathians. In December 1943, as one of the best warriors the Komsomol, was awarded an honorary diploma of the Central Committee of Komsomol.
Lieutenant Lazarev SI. to March 1944, made 131 sorties, 48 air battles personally shot down 15 and in the group 3 enemy planes.

. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, 2 orders of the Red Banner, Order of Alexander Nevsky, World War 1 degree.
. January 31, 1945 the commander of the 5 th Air Corps Guard colonel Machin presented the squadron commander Lazarev to the military rank of captain Б• Б•?, but this was never destined to come true
. March 1st Lieutenant Lazarev was killed in an unequal air battle near the town Buntslau (now Boleslawiec, Poland). He was buried in a mass grave on the ground fighting.
In this made more than 250 combat sorties, shot down a person 22 and in group 3 enemy aircraft. Order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR he ever enlisted in the lists of the military unit. His name in Ivanovo named street and middle school Б•ї 56, in which he studied. At the school building and one of the houses on the street Lazarev established plaques.
