Spartak M akovsky I. Squadron 43rd Fighter Air Regiment (8-th Air Army, 4-th Ukrainian Front), Senior Lieutenant. Born November 27, 1920 in the city of Pavlodar (Kazakhstan) in a working class family. Ukrainetz. Member of the CPSU since 1942. He graduated from the 7 classes in the city of Zaporozhye. He worked at the factory Zaporizhstal, studied at the flying club. In the Red Army in 1937. He graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation School of Pilots in 1939.

On the Great Patriotic War from April 1943. Commander of the 43rd Fighter Regiment (278 th Fighter Division, 3rd Fighter Aviation Corps, 4-th Air Army, the North-Caucasian Front) Lieutenant Makovsky SI. May 8, 1943 in the Crimean village of Krasnodar Territory on a plane Yak-7B ramming attack on a collision course shooting down enemy fighter. Landed the damaged plane.

By omandir squadron of the same regiment (8-th Air Army, 4-th Ukrainian Front) Lieutenant Makovsky SI. to January 1944 carried out 92 armed sorties, 49 air battles personally shot down 18 and in group 1 enemy plane. January 14, 1944 flew a leading group of fighters to attack enemy airfields at Nikopol. At the time of attack fighter was shot down by Lieutenant IG Kuznetsova, who made a forced landing. Makovsky landed his plane nearby, Kuznetsova took on board and in front of the approaching Nazis rose to the sky.
