Biography Methodius (Methodios)
Methodius; Methodios, of Olympia, III in. n. e., Greek Christian philosopher. Bishop of Olympia Lycia, the author of works Feast ten virgins (Symposion ton deka parthenon). This is a dialogue on the model of Plato's Symposium. M. it raises issues unmarried and married life. Of the other works of M. preserved only in fragments. Although the M. was a Platonist, using allegory, an imitator of Plato in the form and in content, he first spoke out against Origen, and also against Plotinus and Porphyry.
