Krumin Janis Martynovich (Krumins) (13.9.1894, Skvirskaya.volost Riga district - 15.3.1938), the party leader. The son of a peasant. Educated at the Institute of Red Professors (1932). In 1912 joined the RSDLP, Bolshevik. In 1915-31 member of the Central Committee of the Social Democracy of the Latvian territory (later - KP Lithuania). In 1917, Deputy. prev. Executive Committee of the workers, soldiers and landless peasants of Latvia. On Feb.. 1918 at the underground work in Livonia and Courland. In 1919, a member of the Soviet government in Latvia. In 1921-22 Secretary of the Central Committee of the underground Communist Party of Latvia. From 1929 he lived in the USSR. Since 1932 the head of the Latvian section of the Comintern Executive Committee. Since 1935 a candidate member of ECCI. In 1938, when the NKVD "created" the Latvian nationalistic conspiratorial organization, was arrested Krumin. Sentenced to death. Shot. He was posthumously rehabilitated.
