Biography Reiss Ignatius
Reiss Ignatius (real name - Nathan Markovic Poretsky) (1899, Galicia, Austria-Hungary - 4/9/1937, near Lausanne, Switzerland), a scout. Son seller. Educated at the Faculty of Law, University of Vienna. In 1917 he joined the communist movement in Poland, was arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison. Soon became an agent of the KGB. (and then the GPU and OGPU) and the Red Army Intelligence Agency. He worked in Poland, Germany, Austria. In 1927, P. charged with creating an intelligence network in the UK. Elected as its base of Netherlands. In the 1930's. acted in France. In July 1937 was withdrawn in the RSFSR, but knowing about the destruction of many scouts, refused to return. 17.7.1937 spoke in French newspapers an open letter exposing the policy I.V. Stalin (primarily mass shootings). "Only the victory of socialism is to free humanity from capitalism and the Soviet Union from Stalinism" - he wrote. He left for Switzerland. Killed specifically directed from Moscow by a group led by SM. Shpigelglas. Reiss's body with gunshot wounds was found on the road in a borrowed car.
