James Clerk Maxwell was born on June 13, 1831 in Edinburgh.
James studied at Edinburgh Academy, then entered the University of Edinburgh.
While still a student Maxwell wrote a paper on the theory of elasticity.
Then Maxwell studied at Cambridge, where he received the title of Bachelor.
Around 1854 James Maxwell engaged in electricity.
Autumn 1856 by James Maxwell became Professor of Natural Philosophy (Physics) Marishal College in Aberdeen.
In the period from 1857-1859 Maxwell accommodates the movement of Saturn's rings.
In 1859 James Clerk Maxwell made a report "On the dynamical theory of gases" at a meeting of Association of the British.
In 1860, James Maxwell became Professor of Natural Philosophy at King's College London.
In the same year, James Maxwell published "Explanation of the dynamic theory of gases".
In the years 1861-1862 was published on the physical lines of force ".
In the years 1864-1865 Maxwell wrote a paper "Dynamical Theory of electromagnetic field".
James Maxwell engaged in electrical measurements, developed a system of electrical units. He became an active member of the Board of units "of the British Association.
In 1871, James Maxwell published a textbook "Theory of Heat", which enjoyed great popularity.
March 8, 1871 by James Maxwell became Cavendish Professor at Cambridge University.
In 1873 he published a book by James Maxwell Matter and Motion "and a two-volume essay" Treatise on Electricity and Magnetism ". In this work, a scientist summed up his work on electromagnetism, including electrostatics, and he created electromagnetic theory of light.
Another famous work of Maxwell this time is the article "On the dynamic proof of the molecular structure of solids".
In the period 1874-1879, the James Clerk Maxwell produced the book "Articles of electricity Honorable Henry Cavendish," which described the work of this famous scientist.
November 5, 1879 in Cambridge, James Clerk Maxwell died.
