Norton was born on August 18, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts, but grew up in Columbia, Maryland.
. In five years, Edward became interested in theater, soon began to engage in Orensteynovskoy Columbia School of Performing Arts and eight years debuted on stage in a local setting.
. Norton graduated from Wilde Lake high school in 1985, then Yale University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in history . At Yale, Norton is still involved in theater. He visited many departments, although the drama was never for him profiling. Actor Ron Livingston was his fellow student and amateur actor in the same. Edward also studied Japanese language and attended the popular English school NOVA Group. Immediately after graduation, he went to Japan, where he worked in the company of his grandfather's Enterprise Foundation. And only a few years later, in 1994, returning to New York, Edward decided to abandon the usual work and devote himself to acting career.
. Laboring as a waiter, Norton played in several theater stages of New York, and eventually was adopted by the company in New York Signature Theater Company, a member of the board of directors of which he is now.
. Film debut for Norton became the film "Primeval Fear '(1996), where he played a young sociopathic inmate . For this role, he won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor. Later, he was not just nominated, including best actor for a role in a film about neo-Nazis 'American History X' and for participation in the adaptation of novel by Chuck Palahniuk 'Fight Club'.
. Last time he played himself in a pilot comedy television series 'Stella' . Also won critical acclaim for her role as the leper king in the film 'Kingdom of Heaven'.
