. Famke Janssen was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands 1st January 1964
. Before becoming an actress in Hollywood, Famke studied at the University of Amsterdam, and was a model.

Prior to 1984, before it decided to go to New York and become a model, she lived with her parents and two sisters in Amsterdam. In New York, Famke signed with the agency "Elite modeling agency" contract, but continued his studies at Columbia University, where she studied literature. Simultaneously, she decided to try herself as an actress and took classes at Harold Guskina.

Famke then moved to Los Angeles. There, she finally got her first screen role in the film 'Fathers and Sons'. Great success has not brought this role, success came only after the budget hits such as: 'The Faculty', 'house on the hill of ghosts' and 'People X'. For his role in the film 'Golden Eye' about the adventures of James Bond, Famke, was nominated for an MTV award for best fight scene in the film.
