Hill)
George Roy (p. 20. 12. 1922), American actor and director.
Born in Minneapolis, he studied music at Yale University and Trinity College in Dublin. Played in the Irish and American theater, from 1948 worked as a theater director. As a pilot, participated in World War II and the Korean War. Wrote plays for TV and Theater, directed the TV show, taught the art of drama at Yale. The first film 'The period of adaptation' (Period of Adjustment, 1962) on the play T. Williams was the debut for Jane Fonda, but did not cause any great resonance, as did his second picture on the play by Lillian Hellman's "Toys in the attic '(Toys in the Attic, 1963). Comedy 'The World of Henry Orient' (The World of Henry Orient, 1964) about the eccentric pianist (Peter Sellers) was noted but did not bring him laurels as tedious blockbuster 'Hawaii' (Hawaii, 1966) on the bestselling book by James Mitchenera. In 1967,
Hill set malootsenenny retro musical 'very modern Millie' (Thoroughly Modern Millie) with the divine Julie Andrews and wonderful dance numbers.
