Born in Berlin. Actress Film since 1916. In 1919-1924 she studied and played in the First State Film School, in the collective L. Kuleshov - first pupil, then - the actress, director, teacher. Took part in the productions of films L. Kuleshov. Film producer 'Case with clasps' (1929) and 'Sasha' (1930). Since 1923 - teacher VGIK, Associate Professor (1939).
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1950).
