Autobiographical notes

I was born in 1943 in Georgia, in a mountainous village, where my grandfather worked on the construction of hydropower stations on the River Church. There was my mother and father went to war. Both were architects. I can not resist the additional features of the place where I was destined to be born, as I'm sure it influenced my life and my work. In adulthood, I found a Zabolockij poem Hramges ", dated 1947, describing it is a" plateau Tsalka ". Near the village there were four names: Tsalkin - Georgia, Molotov - Soviet, Tripoli - Greek and Rosenberg - German (with Catherine's time until the time of my birth there lived Germans - the colonists.)
. Of course it would be naive to say that my "archeological" inclinations were born at the time, but it is impossible not to mention that even during the war in these mountainous areas of land have been drawn and gilded chariots, and Greek amphora.
. In Moscow, I was in 1951
. He graduated from the secondary art school, then the Faculty of Arts Institute kinematografii. He worked as a book illustrator, monumental, stage designer, photographer. At my work and worldview was influenced by Ilya Kabakov and Andrei Monastery. I was a member of the group "Collective Actions". Since 1990, the majority of the projects I carried out jointly with Elena Elagina. Mythology of the grand period of Soviet history continues to stimulate my creative energy. I often want to combine it with a romantic tale with a bad end ", as aptly E. Tar

. Criticism
.
. Out of respect for the truth should, . apparently, . notice, . that any general (monographic) the text of a living artist differs from the version of involuntary obituaries time of his narration, . incomplete arrayed series and, . at best, . deficiency claim to objectivity,
. But while the speech articulation desakralizuyut existential levels of creativity, processing and packaging more than the outward manifestations of the author's early - and they are not deprived of certain magical effects. Thus, the enlightened reader, of course, knows that the first "coffin" Igor Makarevich "knocked together" by A. Monastery: "The case for almost all the submitted works are a number. Different ways and in different materials the artist depicts the attributes of "this" side of death: gravestones, lock picking tools, coffins, etc. "(AZ N3, p.34) ... List of transfers occur almost all subsequent work of Igor Makarevich, and finding depicted attributes could, if necessary, without error to attribute the authorship of his works. The stability of involvement in the death of these themes provides vneshokovost development, . too explicit, . to glare, . and too unproblematic articulated (reception, . typical range of artists KD), . to bear a label negrophobia or necrophilia,
. Existential author's experience seems to initially overcome, as if being replaced sum of all the artistic manipulation, craft, work ...
. As an artist, . Igor Makarevich mainly characterized by high professional level of action, . brought to formal perfection, . special "discharge", . "-designed" works, . details details, . appeal to the traditional aesthetic codes and excellent skills of, . whether book graphics (illustrations for Kafka, . Thackeray), . picture, . monumental projects or "domestication" of exhibition space (namely, he developed a specific design style exhibits Club Avant-gardists) ..,
. Such universality is in itself quite unique and would not get rid of the naive, . but not without a special attraction (in the following culturological logic), the temptation to provide a creative studio, Igor Makarevich, as some of the Bureau of funeral services with all the consequent comparison of the understanding of semantic space of the artist's,
. Aesthetically autonomous sculptural objects of different years are part of a fairly closed itself, . whole logical system, . not undergone a significant evolution of mentalities, . but a wide ranging choice of means of expression within the permissible forms of external,
. Starting with yourself and filling out the fact of his own lifetime experience "dematerialization" (the process of removing the mask in the "Changes") as an artistic gesture, . through "25 memories about each other", . "Dispersion of the soul soars and other objects of the 1970, . Igor Makarevich moved to expand the space of traditional modernist gesture: from fingerprints "Mobile Gallery of Russian Art" (1981) - to the obituary "Stationary gallery of portraits of the three" good "artists: Chuikov, . M. Kabakov and Bulatov (recall here, . that "A good artist - a dead artist), . and then - to the "dumping" as if the entire pre-modern cultural civilization in the "reincarnation of the relics Sv.Ignatiya" (1991),
