Biography Basin Petro
Spent 11 years in Rome (from hundreds of his paintings of that time belong to the best academy); recognized academician of the picture: "Socrates saved Alcibiades; in 1836 became a professor. B. written numerous portraits, allegorical figures decorating the halls of the Winter Palace, but the reputation he created, mainly in the field of religious painting. Remarkably written by him on polusvode above the altar of academic church: "The Descent of the Holy. Spirit on the Apostles ". He has written more up to 40 images and religious paintings for St. Isaac's Cathedral. Works of his are, incidentally, in the Museum of Emperor Alexander III, in the Tretyakov Gallery, Prince B. Shcherbatova in St. Petersburg.
