Biography Gerbel Nikolay
(1827 - 1883).
After Nezhin Lyceum served in Izyumske Hussars, then the Life Guards Lancers. Literary interests have arisen in Gerbel Nizhin, which was still alive the memory of Gogol, the puppeteers and Grebenki. Settled in St. Petersburg, Gerbel worked in the "Contemporary", "Library for Reading" and "Notes of the Fatherland". Originals Gerbel, published in 1858 a collection of "Echoes" and included in the "Complete Collected Poems Gerbel" (1882) did not differ by large advantages. Honorable and well-deserved fame earned Gerbel as a poet-translator and editor.
