Biography ODIO Rodrigo Karatsu
Rodrigo Josц? RamцЁn Francisco de Jesц?s Karatsu Odio was born Dec. 27, 1926 in the town of Cartago. During 1950-60-x godorv he was an active member of the National Liberation Party (Partido de Liberacion Nacional). During this time he served as director of the National Institute for Housing and Urbanization, as well as director of the Central Bank of Costa Rica.
In 1969, Karatsu left the party and became leader of the political opposition. With a slight advantage Karatsu won the main candidate for president of the National Liberation Party in elections in 1978. His triumph was partly due to the fact that a certain number of voters voted for the former PNA financier of the United States Robert Vesco.
. Karatsu conducted its campaign in terms of further reforms as the candidate of the coalition, consisting of 4 parts and called the United Party (Partido de Unidad) .
