Biography ATTAR Fariduddin
(mind. 1230) Full name - Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Ibrahim; nickname Attar (Pharmacist) goes back to the profession of his father, he inherited. Attar was born in Nishapur in the second half of the 12 in. and most of his life spent in the Sufi monastery. Made a pilgrimage to Mecca, traveled to Syria and Egypt, has seen many of the elders, mentors, familiarity with them is devoted to his work Lives of Saints (Tazki-pam-ul-awliya) - a striking example of straightforwardness and insight the author. Attar is known mainly for its poetic works, especially the allegorical poem Conversation birds (Mantyk-ut-Tair). On the ultimate goal of mystical experience - the dissolution of the divine essence of personal I - Attar tells so colorful language that even the most abstract concepts are embodied in the vivid and lively images.
