Of the noble family. From 1754 to 1781 was in the military. In the work Baturin, playwright and translator, occupies a special place to study writing a book about the delusions and Truth (1790). This work is focused on the critical views of the famous French mystic-C.Saint L. Martin, in his book about the delusions and truth, published in Russian in 1785. Criticism Baturin was conducted primarily with educational positions (known researcher of Russian thought AV Panibrattsev sees in this case the influence of the German tradition ( 'Berlin') education - F. Nicolai, M. Mendelssohn). Baturin contrasted 'metaphysical fictional' Saint-Martin, the ideals of 'learning' oriented 'experienced', 'unmistakable evidence', as well as social and moral progress.
Baturin, died in Minsk on 23 October (4 November) 1803.
