Biography IERING Rudolf von (Jhering Rudolf von)
(1818-1892) He was born in Aurich, near Emden August 22, 1818. He studied law in Heidelberg, Munich, GцІttingen and Berlin, was a professor of law at Basel (1845), Rostock (1846), Kiel (1849), Gieц?en (1852), Vienna (1868) and GцІttingen (1872). Although early work Ieringa formed under the influence of the historical school of Savigny, soon found the scientist's methods and principles of the unsatisfactory. In his work The Spirit of Roman Law at various stages of its development (Der Geist des rmischen Rechts auf den verschiedenen Stufen seiner Entwicklung, . 1852-1865) Iering sought to identify the universal principles of law, . in particular those, . that were the basis of Roman law, . He was convinced of the possibility to adapt the Roman law to modern. In 1857 Iering together with the German lawyer Karl von Gerber founded the 'Yearbooks theoretical studies of civil law' ( 'Jahrbcher fr die Dogmatik des brgerlichen Rechts').
Known lecture Ieringa struggle for the right (Der Kampf ums Recht, 1872) - A statement of the concept, the essence of which is reduced to the interpretation of law as a real conflict of interest. The theory presented in Der Kampf ums Rechts, was further developed in the work aim to the right (Der Zweck im Recht, 1877-1884). He died in GцІttingen Iering September 17, 1892.
