Biography Lopez de Gomara, Francisco (Lpez de Gmara Francisco)
(1511-1560) Born February 2, 1511. He was educated at the University of Alcalö?. Traveled to Italy in 1531, became acquainted with many famous scientists. Apparently, he returned to Spain only in 1540. He served as chaplain at the home of Hernan Cortes. Posted by a common history of India (Hispania victrix: historia general de las Indis, 1552). The first part conveyed to 1552, the second contains a detailed description of the conquest of Mexico and the role of the Cortes in these events. Work Lopez de Gomara met a hostile attitude of Philip II, who banned the publication and ordered to withdraw circulation. Gomara has also written works Crnica de los muy nombrados omiche y haradin Barbarrojas and the Annals of Emperor Charles V (Anales del Emperador Carlos Quinto, 1556).
