. Born Oct. 9, 1914 in the village Borovka now Mogilev-Podolsky region Vinnytsia region in a working class family. Ukrainetz. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943. He graduated from the 3 course mehanotehnologicheskogo college and Rabfak. In the Red Army in 1936. In 1938 he graduated from the Odessa Military Aviation School.
On the Great Patriotic War from February 1943. In the air battle July 29, 1944 Vitkovskij п?.п?. rammed Nazi aircraft
. W tion of the Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and medal "Gold Star" Ivan Petrovich Witkowski was awarded on Feb. 23, 1945 over 112 sorties and shot down 15 enemy planes.
. All during the war, made 357 sorties, 148 in aerial combat shot down 22 planes.
. Until 1950, Lieutenant Colonel Witkowski continued to serve in the Air Force
. In 1959 he graduated from Kiev State University. He lived in Kiev, worked as director of secondary school. He was awarded the Order of Lenin, 4 orders of the Red Banner, 2 orders of the Patriotic War of 1 degree, medals.
