Biography BOGDANOV Nikita
Born June 23, 1931. G. Moscow. He graduated from the Faculty of the Moscow Geological Exploration Institute (1954).
Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1962), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1974). Professor of Dynamic Geology, Geological Faculty (1990). Director of the Institute of lithosphere RAH (1984).
Corresponding member of RAH (1990).
Research interests: tectonics, the structure of the folded structures of the Pacific Ocean, geology and tectonics of the marginal and inland seas. Since 1956. within 5 years in Omulevskih expeditions in the mountains, ridges, Tas-Hayahtah and Moma, Prikolymskom lifting and other parts of the basin Indigirka and Kolyma. These field studies formed the basis of his dissertation Palaeozoic geosyncline Kolyma massif and the eastern Arctic. After defending his thesis continued the study of Paleozoic complexes on the North-East Asia - in Wrangel Island and Sakhalin, as well as the Gold Ridge Koryak Upland. In 1964, Mr.. at the invitation of the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) was also a lecturer and a half years. While in Australia, met with the structure of the entire Lohlanskoy fold system of about. Tasmania to the Peninsula New York, and visited with the long geological excursions to New Zealand and New Guinea. Returning to Moscow, has finished its work on the Paleozoic of eastern Australia. After finishing work on Sakhalin began to study tectonics, ocean floor. He suggested a special class of structures - talassogeosinklinaley that before the development of plate tectonics was a step forward. Later, during field trips to Mexico, Japan and Canada, the main attention to oceanic volcanic and sedimentary. In 1967-1968. was a professor at the University of California at Los Angeles. During this time, acquainted with the structure of the Paleozoic section from Alaska to Honduras. Subsequent work in Alaska and Koryak Highlands enabled him to form their own opinions about the structure and nature of the formation of Paleozoic complexes around the folded frame the Pacific. All of these studies were the basis for his doctoral dissertation Palaeozoic geosyncline framing Pacific. In the course of work on my dissertation was typed address ocean cuts in t.ch. and ophiolitic complexes. Since 1973, Mr.. specifically deals tectonics of ophiolites. At the same time moved to the study of the tectonics of the ocean floor, giving first preference to the tectonics of marginal seas. He participated in several research cruises in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Within our country the focus of his work was Koryak Highlands, first in the north, and from 1975. - In the south in Olyutorskij zone.
. Gives lectures Tectonics inland and marginal seas in the geological department.
. Major works:
. - The tectonic development of the shelf Kolyma massif and the eastern Arctic (1963), . - Paleozoynye geosyncline Pacific Rim (1973), . - Geology of the bottom of the Philippine Sea (1978), . - Tectonics of the deep basins of marginal seas (1987).
