Biography Hilda Monte (Monte)
Monte, Hilda (Monte), (nц?e. Meisel) (1914-1945), German poet. Born July 31, 1914 into a Jewish family. With 15 years of staff of the Berlin newspaper "Der Funke" ( "Spark"), an organ of the Socialist International. Monte was in England at the moment when Hitler came to power. Taking part in the campaign against the Nazi regime, found it necessary for a return to his homeland to continue the struggle against Nazism. In early 1945 the SS patrol was killed while trying to cross the Swiss-Germanic border.
