Biography Gavrilov, Mikhail Aleksandrovich
Gavrilov, Mikhail Aleksandrovich (1903-79), Russia scholar, who has spearheaded the computer in our country, in particular technical cybernetics, automata theory and the theory of computers, corresponding member of USSR Academy of Sciences (1964).
Put forward the idea that many engineering problems of designing relay automatics can be solved with the use of formal methods of mathematical logic. Develop practical methods of synthesis of circuits and devices using the contacts controlled by relay. Develop methods for automatic design of discrete control devices.
Major works on telemechanics, the theory of relay devices and finite automata. In 1950 he published his book "Theory of relay-contact networks", which became the world's first book devoted to the logical methods of analysis and synthesis schemes.
