YUBANKS Gordon (Gordon E. Eubanks, Jr.), President of Symantec Corporation.
Yubanks graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BA degree in electrical engineering, then - the High School of the Navy in Monterey (California) with a master's degree in computer engineering. In 1970-79 he served in the nuclear submarine fleet of the Navy.
Yubanks founded Compiler Systems, and developed its products such as CBASIC, one of the first successful languages for personal computers, and CB80, compiled version of CBASIC. In 1981 Compiler Systems became part of the Digital Research, and Yubanks became vice president of business systems company, where he was responsible for the development and marketing of software products. In 1983, leaving Digital Research, headed the company Yubanks Symantec.
Yubanks is a member of IEEE and ACM and the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Software Publishers Association.
