VOLKOV, Leonid (1893-1976), real name Zimnyukov, Russian actor, director, teacher. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1945). Born 5 (17) May 1893. Engaged in the studio under the guidance Vakhtangov, professional career started in 1916. In 1918, played in the National Theater (Moscow) the role of Joseph in the "Miracle of St. Anthony" by M. Maeterlinck. One of the most important works Volkov was the role of Lefty in the "Flea" by Nikolai Leskov (statement of the Wild).
