First president of Russia Boris Yeltsin celebrates 75-th anniversary
First Russian president Boris Yeltsin celebrates his 75-year old jubilee on Wednesday.
In the morning Yeltsin will be congratulated by relatives - wife, daughters, grandchildren, and during second half of the day the solemn reception will be held in Kremlin.
Several last years Boris Yeltsin celebrated his birthday at home, treating guests with traditional Ural ravioli and cakes cooked by wife Naina Iosifovna - "Nut" an "Kiss of the Negro".
But current data - 75-th anniversary - obliges celebration on grand hand.
About 250 people including administration of the country and chairmen of both chambers of the government are invited to festival. Old friends and ex-colleagues from Ural polytechnic institute, Sverdlovsk and Moscow region will attend the celebration. Among them are ex-premier-ministers Victor Chernomyrdin, Sergey Kirienko and Sergey Stepashin.
Vice-speaker of State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky has declared about his intention to congratulate first president of Russia. "I will greet Yeltsin as I was his opponent in election".
Foreign guests are also expected: Bill Clinton, Gelmut Kol, presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbaev.
Boris Yeltsin is in good shape at present moment. "Boris Nikolaevich has completely recovered after leg fracture and small ophthalmologic surgery last year".
During press-conference current president regarded period of Yeltsin`s rule the following way:
"One can interpret activity of first Russian president the way he wants. But there is no doubt that Russian citizens have got the main purpose of reforms - freedom. And this is a huge historical service of Boris Yeltsin", - said Putin.
