During the 30 years he worked at the Institute of Experimental Biology in Moscow. Engaged in the genetics of the silkworm. From well-known works on crossing-over in Drosophila. The first investigated the influence of cosmic rays (in-flight into the stratosphere) in the mutation process (1936). He was arrested and shot.
