Biography BERGMAN Hjalmar (Bergman Hjalmar)
(1883-1931) Born September 10, 1883 in ц?rebro. After graduating from Uppsala University, traveled to Europe. He lived in Italy, where he began to write. Deserved recognition came to him rather late. Action in the novel occurs predominantly in the Bergman Bergslagene (region in central Sweden), . imaginary city Vadchepinge, . where the events are developing novel Markurell of Vadchepinga (Markurells i Wadkping, . 1919), . Grandma and the Lord God (Farmor och Var Herre, . 1921) and his other works, . On the creation of some of the novels - primarily headmistress Fru Ingeborg (Chefen fru Ingeborg, 1924) - Bergman inspired teachings of Freud. In drama Bergman was prone to bold experiment, which is especially evident in the play Mr. Schliemann come (Herr Sleeman kommer, 1917). Greatest success enjoyed his play rabble (Patrasket, 1928) and Family Svedenelm (Swedenhielms, 1925). Bergman died in Berlin on January 1, 1931.
