Biography Luigi Cremona (Cremona Luigi)
(1830-1903) Born Dec. 7, 1830 in Pavia. Educated at the University of Pavia. Together with two other well-known Italian mathematicians - Betty and Brioski - roughly from 1860 began to actively engage in modern mathematics, established contacts with scientists from Germany, Britain and France. From 1860 to 1873 Cremona - Professor of Higher Geometry, first in Bologna, then in Milan, since 1873 - Professor and Director of the Technical School in Rome. In 1879 he became a senator in 1898 - Minister of Education. His main works are devoted to projective geometry. Investigated birational transformations of the plane and space, was one of the creators of graphic statics. In mathematics, still used Cremona transformation, curve Cremona, etc.. Through lectures, Cremona, . which occupy a prominent position projective geometry, . and actively implemented their exercises in descriptive geometry, . geometric study in Italy flourished so, . decades that followed she began to play in this area lead, .
