Biography Hans von Dohnanyi (Dohnanyi)
Dohnanyi, Hans von (Dohnanyi), (1902-1945), German lawyer, a nephew of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a member of the conspiracy against Hitler. Born January 1, 1902 in Vienna, the pianist in a family of Hungarian origin. After receiving a law degree in May 1933, Dohnanyi began working in the Ministry of Justice. In 1934, became friends with Karl Friedrich Goerdeler and other opponents of Nazism. In 1939, Dohnanyi was transferred to the Abwehr. In March 1943 he participated in a failed assassination attempt on Hitler, along with Major General Henning von Cod and Lieutenant Fabian von Shlabrendorfom. A few months later was arrested by the Gestapo. Subsequently released, but after the July 1944 conspiracy again arrested and sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Dohnanyi was executed in Flossenbц?rg April 8, 1945.
