Jorge Donn was born February 25, 1947 in Buenos Aires. Dancing began early - at 4 or 5 years, then studied at the school dance in the theater ColцЁn (Buenos Aires). His teacher was Mary Fuchs.
In 1963 he came specially to Brussels to act in the company of Maurice Bejart, and soon became a leading dancer in her. In 1979, first performed "Bolero" - ballet, originally staged for women. Everyone remembers his response to this dance in the movie "Some other" (Les uns et les autres) directed by Claude Lelouch. Incidentally, in some countries the film and called - "Bolero".
Many Bejart ballets created especially for him: "Bhakti" (1968), "Nijinsky, Clown of God" (1971), "Golestan, or Garden of Roses" (1973), "What does my love" (1974), "Our Faust (1975), "Leda" (1978), "Adagietto" (1981) and other.
Since 1976, Jorge Donn was also the artistic director of Ballet Theater XX Century "by Maurice Bejart, and in 1988 established his own company -" The European Ballet "(L'Europa Ballet), but it was short-lived.
In 1989 he was nominated fund Konex as one of the best dancers.
Died of AIDS on Nov. 30, 1992 in Lausanne.
