Biography Viskovatov Pavel
(1842 - 1905), studied at St. Petersburg University and in Germany. At one time editor of "Russian World", was a professor of Russian literature at Tartu University, then director of the gymnasium in St. Petersburg. Has built a name for himself studying biography of Lermontov and the publication of his works. Viskovatov sought out and published many works of Lermontov, . materials for his biography, and wrote a number of small studies on the history of his work, . printed in the "Russian Antiquities", . Russian Messenger, . Russian Thought, . The Messenger of Europe "and others, . Written in his biography of Lermontov, the sixth volume of the edited editions of works of Lermontov (Moscow, 1891), is valuable primarily as a summary of carefully collected evidence. Revision of the text does not differ systematically and care techniques; Viskovatov sometimes reaches such naivete that literally straighten Lermontov's poem.
