(1801-1875) Born in Paris on May 11, 1801, the brother of architect Theodore Labrusta (1799-1885). From 1819 he studied architecture at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, in A. Vandozhe and L. Loeb. In 1824 he left for Rome, where he studied constructive basis of ancient architecture. Labrust was a supporter of the use in the construction of new materials and taking into account their properties in architectural design. In 1830, organized in Paris 'rational school of architecture'. Built in 1843-1850 of an elegant library building of St.. Genevieve in Paris - the most successful example of his style.
