Biography Javier Perez de Cuellar
Born January 19, 1920 in Lima (Peru). He began his diplomatic career in 1944. In 1964-1966 - Ambassador of Peru in Switzerland, in 1969-1971 - in the USSR and Poland, in 1977-1979 - in Venezuela. In 1971-1982 - head of the Peruvian delegation to the UN. In 1982 was appointed UN Secretary-General in 1986 was reelected for a second term
