Evgeny Vladimirov, like many famous Grandmasters chess was born far away from the centers of the USSR, in the provincial (in chess standards) Alma-Ata. Professional soldier, that he had a much smaller tournament practice compared to peers. Nevertheless, his victory in the two championships of the USSR among young masters (and masters of the "spill" is stronger than many of the current played GMs) speak for themselves. In the grand master by Eugene started playing in the early eighties, but formally received the title only in 1989. However, the reputation of Vladimir, as a very strong, deep chess player, a sensitive position was ahead of him.

No wonder Eugene at the time drew on his team, Garry Kasparov. And after receiving the title of grand master Vladimirov continues to play on a "rare so aptly". If we are Eugene took part in a tournament, then if not won, then found himself already winners. Nevertheless, in the mid-nineties, he took the crucial decision to move away from chess and go into the business world. Activities at the new position has brought more grief than Eugene joys. The old folk wisdom says that everyone should own some craft that in difficult times to earn a piece of bread. Chess players - is as much a profession as a doctor or a lawyer. Five years after his voluntary withdrawal from chess, Vladimir returned. He began coaching with young Indian chess players (as a result, even without Anand, India became a sensation at the last Olympics), and then "sucked" in the tournaments. It turned out that the old hunter's eyes are still sharp, and his hand is firm. Vladimirov successfully made in decent krugovikah in India in 2000, a year later, not bad "worked" in the Swiss. Appetite comes with eating. At the last Olympics Eugene led the team of Kazakhstan.
