Mö²lders, Werner (Moelders), (1913-1941), Luftwaffe fighter pilot, General Aviation. Born March 18, 1913 in Brandenburg. In 1932 he graduated from the Dresden Military Academy, joined the Luftwaffe in 1935. Within three years he was a pilot instructor at Wiesbaden. In 1938 was sent to Spain as part of the Legion Condor "for two months prior to its dissolution. Shot down 14 enemy aircraft, winning fame as one of the best pilots in Germany.
In 1939 was appointed commander of the 53rd formations of fighter aircraft. From June 1940 to July 1941 in the 51 th air group participated in the battles in France and the Battle of Britain. 5 June 1940 his Me-109 was shot down by French fighters on the front lines in the area of Chantilly; Mö²lders narrowly escaped by jumping with a parachute from a burning plane. According to official statistics Mö²lders Luftwaffe shot down 115 enemy aircraft, 68 of which fall on the Western Front. Was an inspector crews at the headquarters of the General Command of the Luftwaffe. First among the pilots was awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds.
Commanded air operations in the Crimea. Once committed suicide on Nov. 17, 1941 pilot ace, Ernst Udet, Mö²lders was summoned to Berlin to be in the honor guard at the tomb Udet. November 21, 1941 in bad weather on the He-111 bomber caught on the wires in the vicinity of Breslau and crashed. His post was taken Adolf Galland.
