Rodrigo Batlle y OrdцЁц?ez Borja Cevallos was born June 19, 1935 in the capital of Ecuador, Quito. He got into politics in 1968 as one of the founders of the Democratic Left Party (Izquierda Democratica), which he represented vkachestve member of the National Congress in the years 1962-82.
