Haya de la Torre Victor Raul

(1895-1979)
Born in Trujillo (Peru) 22 February 1895 in an aristocratic family. He was educated at the University of San Marcos in Lima. In his student years involved in organizing evening schools for workers. He played against the dictatorship of President Augusto Legii (1919-1930), for which in 1923 was expelled from the country. Settled in Mexico.
In 1924 in Mexico Ayia founded the American Popular Revolutionary Alliance (APRA). After the overthrow of Legii in 1930 returned to Peru and transformed the Alliance for National reformist party (Apristskaya Party). Won the election, Colonel Luis Sanchez Cerro, apristskaya party was banned, its leaders have emigrated. Aya was imprisoned, where he remained until 1933. From 1932 to 1940 the party was in hiding, until it was legalized by President Manuel Prado.
