Biography Bury, John Bagnell (Bury John Bagnell)
(1861-1927) Born October 16, 1861 in County Monaghan (Ireland). He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University. In 1893 he was appointed professor of modern history at Trinity College. In 1898 he became a professor of modern history at Cambridge University, reluctantly saying goodbye to Dublin. Best research Bury stories are devoted to the late period of the Roman Empire, especially the Middle Eastern territories. In 1896-1900 he was preparing to print work Gibbon Decline and destruction of the Roman Empire, providing it with a brilliant introduction and notes, since this edition is the canonical.
