Biography KREISLER Fritz (Kreisler Fritz)
(1875-1962) Born February 2, 1875 in Vienna. At the age of three and a half years, the boy already knew the notes, in seven years, entered the Vienna Conservatory, and in ten - Conservatoire received a gold medal and was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire. Engaged in the violin class at J. Massara and composition with L. Delibes. He won the Grand Prize of the Conservatoire at age 12, 14 - gave his first concert in the U.S. with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and then made a successful tour of America with pianist M. Rosenthal. For some time Kreisler left the violin, taking up medicine (musician father was a doctor), served the prescribed time in the Austrian army and then returned to the music. In the 19 years he wrote who later became famous cadenza to the Beethoven Violin Concerto, . published manuscript Classic (Klassische Manuskripte) - a series of violin pieces, . stylized under the famous masters: for example, . Andantino, . attributed Dzh.B.Martini, . Chanson Louis XIII and Pavanu, . allegedly belonging F. Kuperenu, . World fame brought Kreyleru his first appearance with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1899. In the period between 1900 and 1914 he made numerous concert tours in various countries and has created such popular works as the Viennese Caprice (Caprice Viennois), torments of love (Liebesleid) and Joy of Love (Liebesfreude).
Since the beginning of World War Kreisler was drafted into the Austrian army as a lieutenant, but was soon discharged and continued his musical activities. War hysteria hindered his performances in America between 1917 and 1919, but already in early 1920, all European and American concert violinist, took place in crowded rooms. In 1923-1925 he made tours in the Orient, Australia, New Zealand. After the Nazis came to power Kreisler settled in Paris (1933-1939), and in 1939 - in New York. In April 1941, had a car accident and suffered a serious injury, but after 18 months returned to live performances. Kreisler left the stage in 1950. Kreisler died in New York on January 29, 1962.
