Biography FORD Ford Medoks (Ford Ford Madox)
(1873-1939), present. name - Ford Medoks Hyuffer (Hueffer) Born December 17, 1873 in Merton (Surrey). Son of Francis Hyuffera, who emigrated from Germany in 1869, and the grandson of the famous artist-Medoksa Brown Ford Pre-Raphaelites. In collaboration with Dzh.Konradom wrote novels Heirs (The Inheritors, 1901) and Adventure (Romance, 1903). In 1908, Ford founded the magazine 'Inglish rivyu'. After World War I edited the magazine 'Atlantic rivyu' in Paris and one of the first countries to support E. Hemingway.
The Good Soldier (The Good Soldier, 1915) - Ford's first novel, which attracted the attention of the public - says about the intricate relationships of two couples. His style features and subtle delineation of character is revealed the influence of Flaubert and Stendhal, to whom Ford admired. During the First World War, Ford served in the Regiment of Wales in France, received a strong poison gases. Subsequently, military experience is reflected in his famous tetralogy: Not everyone is given (Some Do Not, 1924), End of parades (No More Parades, 1925), a person could rise (A Man Could Stand Up, 1926) and Last Post (The Last Post , 1928). These novels create an expressive picture of English life in war and postwar period. Later, all four novels were published in a book entitled End Parade (Parade's End, 1950).
Ford - author of numerous works on literature and art, several poems and memoirs, all he has published over 60 books. In recent years he lived in France and the U.S.. Ford died in Deauville (France) 26 June 1939.
