Biography Lion Feuchtwanger (Feuchtwanger Lion)
(1884-1958) Born July 7, 1884 in Munich. He studied at the universities of Munich and Berlin, where he studied philosophy, but early enough, turned to the literature. Having made several trips, written during the First World War, several anti-war plays, which were banned. Glory of the writer brought historical novels, written with an eye on the latest developments in psychology, in t.ch. The Jew Suess (Jud S, . 1920-1922), . Success (Erfolg, . 1926), . Ugly Duchess (Die hlische Herzogin, . 1923) and a trilogy about the war of the Jews against the Romans (Jewish War - Der Jdische Krieg, . 1932; sons - Die Shne, . 1935; The day will come - Der Tag wird kommen, . 1942), . The rise of Nazism, as described in the novel Family Oppenheim (1933), Feuchtwanger forced to seek refuge in France in 1940 he settled in the U.S.. Among his later works - Weapons for the Americas (Waffen fr Amerika, 1947-1948), Goya (Goya, 1951), Eccentric Wisdom (Narrenweisheit, 1952) and the Spanish ballad (Spanische Ballade, 1956). Feuchtwanger died in Los Angeles on Dec. 21, 1958.
